I have a son, who is entering the Twelve Tribes. My family back in the seventies was part of the Charismatic Renewal, I was 10 years old. I watched my friends give up everything and just short of my own families "official" entry into "community" my life was torn apart with divorce. Considering the alternative, it may have been a blessing in disguise. Now, decades later- I am having a difficult time understanding his need to do this and the damage he does not see in his decision. In my research, I found your article. It said everything I expected. I pray he has the same common sense as you did, to walk away, but I fear that he won't. I would love to discuss this with you in more detail if possible... Not only did I experience this as a minor, a dear friend of mine from that era in my life is still living a horrible nightmare with her family. They have "eliminated" her from their life, dividing an entire family and even making headlines with murder. I cannot watch my son do this. Please, if contact me if you feel you can.
